Many non
geographic numbers such as 0800 and 0845 cannot always be accessed from
outside the UK, 0871 numbers have a wider reach! They can
make your company accessible from outside the UK and create the
perception of a company that is eager to deal with Europe and beyond.
Your 0871 number will give customers fast
access to your business. As calls to this number can be diverted
anywhere, you can continue to run your operations anywhere in the UK -
if you move to another part of the country, your number stays the same
at no extra cost. Customers that already have your number on record need
not worry about changing it, and you can prevent large costs involved
with changing numbers on business literature and advertisements.
The caller pays the standard national rate
wherever you relocate in the UK. 0871 Euro numbers allow businesses to
streamline and reduce communication costs as only one telephone number
needs to be communicated nationally. Your 0871 number can be used as
your main business contact number, or to contact just parts of it, such
as your switchboards, telesales or customer service teams. Many
businesses use 0871 numbers for value added services to their
customers, services that they do not wish to offer free of charge, such
as specialist advice, information, breakdown or technical support lines.
You don't need any special equipment or
additional phone lines - calls to your 0871 number are simply routed to
your existing phone. Connection is within 2 to 8 working hours. Your
normal telephone number is still fully functional as it was, you will
not loose any calls made to your normal number.

0871
numbers
(or UK National Euro numbers)
are a relatively new range, usually costing
10p per minute to call. They are still
recognisably 08 numbers (giving that national
image) but are cheaper to buy than other 08
numbers. As such, 0871 numbers are suitable
for both personal and professional use and say
'call me wherever I am in the world, I want to
talk to you'.
Callers to 0871 numbers
tend to be better quality leads (because they are paying for the call at
standard BT national rates) The number of callers will be less than those to an
0800 or 0845 number, but your conversion rate and therefore sales, will tend to
be higher.
0871 numbers are used for both sales and after sales service
by a wide variety of companies. Typical uses include brochure lines, claim
lines, support lines, information lines, breakdown lines. They give smaller
regional agents a national appearance.
